About Us

Established in 2002, our vision is for all refugees, asylum seekers and other vulnerable migrants to feel welcome and supported to fully integrate into society.

COVID-19/ Coronavirus update

  
The RETAS office is temporarily closed. Our Friday Drop-In advice service from 10am to 12.30pm is now running on Facebook. Contact us via Facebook Messenger during these times if you would like to speak to an advisor.
At other times of the week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, you can also speak to an advisor on one of the numbers below.
 Our staff are working at home to provide essential support to clients over the phone and by email. We are also continuing to deliver IELTS sessions using online learning platforms, and continuing to support ESOL learners.

New Roots

Engaging with refugees with multiple and complex needs to provide a range of holistic, intensive and enhanced support activities, adding significant value to the limited refugee integration provision and improving integration outcomes.

28 Day Transition Project

Enabling asylum seekers who have very recently been granted refugee status to transition successfully from living as asylum seekers in Home Office accommodation, to living independently in alternative accommodation and integrating successfully into local communities throughout Leeds, Bradford & Wakefield.​​

Supporting individuals who have arrived as part of the Syrian and Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Programme to integrate into UK society. 

About Us

Established in 2002, RETAS (Refugee Education Training Advice Service) has a vision to see all refugees, asylum seekers and other vulnerable migrants to feel welcome and supported to fully integrate into society.

​We provide assistance with access to education, re-qualification, training and employment to help them better integrate in their communities. We strive to build confidence and hope in our service users, and empower them to build a safe and secure life here in the UK.
